Highest flexibility with the new DALI-Gateways

Control DALI devices, DALI groups and DALI emergency devices with one Gateway

A DALI-Gateway serves as the interface between the KNX installation in the building and the digital DALI lighting control system, and therefore unites the two most important building automation standards.
The new DALI-Gateways DG/S (1fold) and DG/S (2fold) from ABB each come with a DALI power supply and have emergency lighting features for DALI self-contained emergency lights.
Intelligent light management with DALI has a number of advantages including flexible components, ease of installation and simple programming. Alongside KNX building automation, DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) has become the most important lighting control in the building management system. DALI systems have benefited greatly from a steadily growing market.
KNX controls and monitors the lighting system with the gateway by means of broadcast, single or group control.

Product advantages:

  • Controlling individual DALI devices, DALI groups and DALI emergency devices with one DALI-Gateway instead of three.
  • Optimized staircase, slave, scene and burn-in features
  • Reaction to partial lighting cuts & background brightness during the night functionality
  • Easy to install: No tool needed for removing the gateway from DIN rail
  • Faster programming: Simplified programming in ETS with user-friendly templates. A single change in parameters updates the parameters of all 64 DALI participants and 16 groups automatically.

Two versions available

DALI-Gateway DG/S – 1fold

The 1fold DALI gateway for ABB i-bus® KNX can be used to control up to 64 single DALI participants. These can even be compiled into 16 DALI groups and/or scenes.

DALI-Gateway DG/S – 2fold

The only difference between it and the 1fold DALI gateway is that it has two outputs and therefore twice as many DALI devices, DALI groups, scenes and emergency devices can be connected. The 2fold DALI gateway provides maximum flexibility combined with the maximum number of DALI participants and groups

The new control panel Busch-SmartTouch® is as easy to use as a smartphone and meets all requirements for perfect home automation.

This Busch-SmartTouch® provides a central control point for the ABB i-bus® KNX, which can also be used as an indoor video station for the ABB-Welcome door communication system – an excellent combination. The Busch-SmartTouch® is a fantastic option for new builds as well as renovation projects and is suitable both for family homes and for hotels or conference rooms in representative purpose-built buildings.

Benefits at a glance:

Intuitive operation similar to mobile end devices

The Busch-SmartTouch® follows the mobile trend: The intuitive display can be used to switch lighting on/off or dim or brighten it throughout the building, as well as control blinds and heating. An integrated room temperature controller ensures complete heating control. Complete scenes can be created from all of these functions, with a total of 480 KNX control elements displayed on max. 30 pages.

One central control point for the KNX system and indoor station for ABB-Welcome

Combining home automation with the KNX system and the fully integrated functions of ABB-Welcome in one device is the great advantage of the Busch-SmartTouch®. In addition to a direct KNX connection, the panel also has a direct two-wire connection for ABB-Welcome.

State-of-the-art and extra slim glass display meets highest requirements

Especially noteworthy of the Busch-SmartTouch®: it is extremely slim at just 13 mm. The panel is available in two colors: real glass in black or white – so it can be perfectly combined with the carat® and Busch-axcent® switch ranges. The panel’s bottom design bar made of brushed stainless steel lends it a visual polish to complete this sleek design.

Setting benchmarks in comfort and energy savings

The user can choose their favorite page and set timer programs. Logic functions and simulation of people in the building are also easy to configure. All of this makes life easier and safer for the user and saves energy in the process.
