Gira One:

The Gira One is a fantastic addition to the Gira portfolio providing an entry level solution for those new to KNX or integrators who prefer a ‘drag & drop’ style of programming, compared to the group address infrastructure seen within ETS.

The Gira One solution provides intuitive control of lighting, shading, climate, sound, security and door entry functions which can be triggered by their contemporary keypads and/or customisable touchscreen / app. The system is run on the certified KNX bus cable and restricted to the Gira One actuators and keypads only.

One of the key benefits of Gira One is that if additional functionality is required post installation, an that functionality falls outside of the Gira One portfolio, the system can be easily upgraded to a full KNX system by swapping the Gira One Server for a Gira X1 server and any KNX certified device can then be integrated into the project’s ecosystem. No further alternations are required to the existing cable runs or din rail actuators.

Key features:

  • Simplistic and time saving system programming via Gira’s GPA portal with a ‘drag & drop’ design.
  • Device QR code serial code referencing.
  • Up to 200 devices can be controlled.
  • Easy operation via Gira One keypads or app.
  • Secure remote access.
  • Encrypted system communication.
  • Based on the globally certified KNX standard.
  • Third part integration including Sonos and Philips Hue.

Available at My KNX Store in March 2023.

KNX RF via System 3000:

Solutions for the retrofit market is an ever-expanding sector within KNX, ranging from RF add on solutions to existing KNX systems, utilising existing 230v infrastructures or a complete RF system package. Gira has further expanded their System 3000 range with the addition of an RF top unit.

System 3000 utilises the existing 230v infrastructure of a building to provide an intuitive control system for lighting, blind and heating elements via keypads and an app. This has been a standalone system with no prior bridge to the KNX ecosystem. However, with the new System 3000 RF top unit this is now possible.

Gira’s RF top unit is available in 1 or 2-gang variants (depending on function) and is available with plain, arrow and symbol inscriptions (fixed design). When used in combination with a KNX wired system, an additional media coupler(s) is required to bridge between RF and wired KNX infrastructures.

106 Door Entry Keyless In module:

The popular Gira 106 door entry range now includes a keyless-in fingerprint module which uses biometric fingerprints to authorise access. Start-up and administration are based on advanced technology that guarantees the highest level of security.

Via Gira’s keyless-in app users can manage up to 100 fingerprints from their smartphone. This module can be used as a stand-alone product, for self-contained use with a remote actuator or as a supplementary module for the Gira System 106 door station. Additional features include easy start-up and user management with the Gira keyless-in app and temporary access can be set using timer options.

F1:

The new F1 device provides two main functions 1) to act as a KNX bridge and 2) as a SIP firewall for door entry solutions.

KNX bridge:

If there are plans to connect self-contained KNX systems in medium-sized and large buildings, the Gira F1 can be used as a KNX bridge. The module can, for example, be used to forward important notifications to private KNX systems in the residential units as KNX telegrams, where they appear on a display such as the Gira G1. This includes reports from a building weather station that residents share, but also information about pending lift maintenance, that a window cleaner is coming, or that parcels have been delivered. The lift can even be summoned without leaving the flat. Along with use in residential buildings, the Gira F1 is also suitable for commercial use, e.g. as a KNX bridge in shopping centres or in company buildings that have grown over time and when self-contained KNX systems in individual shops or companies need to communicate with each other.

Key features:

  • Couples several self-contained KNX systems as a KNX bridge.
  • Forwards reports to all residential units, such as the forecast from a shared weather station.
  • Bidirectional KNX transmission with conversion of KNX IP to KNX TP or vice-versa possible.
  • Group addresses that can be edited avoid duplications in private and public KNX systems.
  • Compatible with KNX Secure.
  • Initial start-up using the ETS.
SIP door station:

Network-based SIP door communication systems enable cross-device audio, video and entry functions in buildings with multiple residents. In combination with the Gira F1, this guarantees secure segmentation of the building network and the private network used in the individual residential units. Only the necessary video door call for the door station is enabled and forwarded to the home station, such as the Gira G1, within the private network. All other access points and IP connections remain blocked, thereby reliably protecting private networks in the building from unauthorised access.

Key features:

  • Provides security by systematically segmenting the networks.
  • Provides protection from access to private networks.
  • Bidirectional protection.
  • Supports SIP and SIPS.
  • Easy, browser-based start-up.
